Our Goal

We seek to remember, safeguard and celebrate the history of Summerville and the surrounding Dorchester county through our museum exhibits, oral tradition and community outreach.

FIRST Let's

Discover
Look into our display cases like a window into the past, and truly immerse yourself in a different time as our guides recount the lives of the men and women who shaped Summerville, South Carolina into what it is now.

Now Let's WORK

Preserve
Our staff and volunteers pride themselves on continuing to share Summerville's rich history in an engaging but accurate manner, thereby, making sure the facts remain for generations to come.

It's up to YOU

Share
In order for the museum to continue its purpose and achieve its goals, we rely on you returning to visit or sharing your experience with others so that more visitors will partake in what our little museum has to offer.
